Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren joined Democratic candidates Troy Jackson and Hannah Pingree in Portland over the weekend.

Several hundred people reportedly attended a gathering with the three politicians at Deering Oaks Park in Portland Saturday afternoon.

The event was staged by Greater Portland Indivisible, and was held in conjunction with “No Kings” rallies nationwide focused on voting in November’s election.

Jackson’s campaign advertised the event as a “Defeat Collins Rally” in reference to his race against Senator Susan Collins in November’s election.

The rally came 17 days before the election.

Democratic candidate for governor Hannah Pingree joined Jackson and Senator Warren to emphasized the importance of the upcoming election.

Pingree has held a double-digit lead against Republican Bobby Charles in most polling for the governor’s race. The Senate contest between Jackson and Collins is getting national attention as a possible determining factor for control of Congress. Collins and Jackson are locked in a tight race.
